Hi, my name is Drew.

Please, don't call me Andrew. That's my dad's name, and as much as I love him to death, I can't be confused with him. Unless he won the lottery, THEN you can confuse me for him.

Anyways, my name is Drew Schwendiman, and I'm a student here at USC studying Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a minor in Culture, Media and Entertainment. I grew up in Summit, NJ staring at the little box in front of me. No, honestly, I was addicted to television. Who I am is a product of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Avatar: The Last Airbender, the Game Show Network, and the 10 O'clock news. Whether that's good or bad is still TBD but I like to think I'm on a pretty good path.

I applied to USC with the intention of being the next big television host. There was Oprah, there was Ellen, and then there was going to be Drew. Then, through my studies I realized I liked working behind the camera just as much as I liked being in front of him. THEN, through my internship at AwesomenessTV, I realized I liked working way behind the camera (like... in the office) far more than I enjoyed being in studio.

So where do I see my journalism career taking me? Who knows! I'm eyeing a career in talent management, I'm embracing an internship in television programming (at FOX this fall), but I want to end up wherever the stories are. Whether they're mine or someone else's, I want to be a part of that process. I don't want the voices to ever stop shouting.
